Your health is our prime objective.

Villa Alfred Xavier will therefore offer specialized prestigious accommodations that will be affordable for the majority of retirees, not simply for the well-off few, but rather for the middle-class many.

Construction of a "healthy environment"3 that is flexible and secure, and that will make it possible for seniors to increase their health, as much on the physical plan as psychic, financial as well as spiritual and... an environment which will enable them to valorize themselves in the eyes of the general public, and to prove that it is not necessary that they be a burden on society.

The residential portions of the complex will include the following elements:

  • 30 self-contained apartments
  • 33 studios - large surface area
  • 29 studios - average surface area
  • 10 craft rooms
  • an exercise room
  • a solarium
  • a chapel
  • three swimming pools (four-season - 100' x50 ' and 2 wading)
  • a gardening four-season hothouse
  • common areas that are both private and secure
  • commercial areas

Villa Alfred Xavier will of course offer all the services of traditional residences, that is meals, maintenance of a landscaped environment, nursing assistance, domestic assistance, and many other services.

The design of the modules will give the message, unambiguously, that the Villa is "...an accessible home, welcoming and secure... with elevators, approach ramps... of studios (room & board) including meals, and of apartments... (including kitchenette or kitchen with institutional equipment)... cordial and sunny... with pleasant dimensions and entirely adapted... with balconies..." and which includes "...accessible and open common spaces (dining room, activities rooms, reception area, laundry rooms, storage rooms, terraces and gardens)... and a secure, private and attractively landscaped external environment..." with "...circulation paths that respect privacy and encourage secure walks... and located near commonly used services..."3 such as hospital, shopping centers, bus routes and highway.


    Admission Criteria

    To ensure that the limited number of units benefit those who are truly in need, only those registrants who meet the following criteria will be considered :

      1. age: 55 to 70, and higher
      2. economic status: annual revenues between $15,000 and $35,000 (revenue calculated according to the CLSC during their evaluations for admissibility to subsidized housing, as well as non-taxable revenues)
      3. degree of autonomy: autonomous and semi-autonomous
      4. capacity of integration: open spirit and honesty to ensure "...being integrated harmoniously into the dynamics of life..."3 of the Villas.

    Selection Process

    The Villas Tenancy Selection Committee, composed of representatives from the V3W Board of Directors and, eventually, Tenants, reserves onto itself the right "...to ensure that the degree of autonomy of the tenants corresponds to the capacity which..." the Villa Alfred Xavier "...can offer... its services..." and "...preserve the character, quality and internal dynamics..."3.

    As such, Tenancy approval will be based on the applicant submitting information as requested later on this webpage. This will help the Tenancy Selection Committee to clarify the applicants' real needs and objectives in seeking tenancy. This information, as well as additional information that will be requested later on, will highlight the Registrants' willingness to actively participate in ongoing learning activities, and their ability to adapt to the unique culture at the Villa Alfred Xavier. Personal verifications will be undertaken for registrations received at the outset before the actual construction of the Villa Alfred Xavier. Referrals from present members will be required for those applying for tenancy after construction has started.

    Registration for Tenancy privileges at the Villa Alfred Xavier is limited. We will consider Tenancy requests on a first come, first serve basis (for those who submit all the information requested)... once the Selection Committee processes and approves the request.

    Remember that all Tenants have to be Members in good standing with the Alliance of Sages before the Selection Committee can give final approval to any and all Requests for Tenancy.
